Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the conclusion to the recent trilogy of Star Wars movies. It follows Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Poe (Oscar Issac) as they are faced with the return of Emperor Palpatine.
Solo: A Star Wars Story surrounds the life of Han Solo as a young man, here we get to see how Han meets Chewie and Lando, how he gets his name and blaster, how he got the Millennium Falcon, and the adventure he embarks on once he meets up with Beckett and his band of smugglers.
Many people know that this movie went through a very troubled production with the initial two directors being fired about halfway through filming and Ron Howard having to step in and finish the film to meet this May release date. What I think of this film is that it’s more of the same Star Wars films that we have been getting since they came back in 2015. A Han Solo prequel film is really not necessary, but I’m sure that those who are huge Star Wars and Han Solo fans will get some enjoyment out of this. As a casual fan myself, I just found it fine.
I finally got a chance to see The Last Jedi, and I was a little bit more trepidatious about it once I heard mixed fan reactions to the movie, but overall I liked it!
