Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse surrounds Miles Morales, a teenager who gets bitten by a radioactive spider, he stumbles on the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, who is in the midst of fighting against Kingpin who opens up a collider to different dimensions that allowed various spider people including Spider-Gwen, Spider-Noir, and Spider-Ham to come into his dimension. Now everyone must try to get back to their dimension before reality collapses onto itself.
Into the Spider-Verse is an utter delight. It’s nice to see an origin of a story we’ve seen a million times before, but through a different perspective. Miles is a worthy Spider-Man and I’m glad that more people will know his name because of this film. The voice cast gathered for this film is amazing. Shameik Moore is a stand out as Miles. I can’t think of a better person than Jake Johnson to play a middle aged, worn out Peter Parker. Nic Cage was amazing as Spider-Noir, and as a huge fan of John Mulaney myself, he totally encompasses Spider-Ham’s persona, though I wish there was more of him.
