2019 has been over for a while now, but now that I’ve seen 1917 which is competing in the Oscars this year, I can finally release my Top 10 list. 2019 was truly a great year for film and I hope that 2020 and beyond will be even more diverse both in front of and behind the camera, and that we continue to support original films and new voices. Jumanji: The Next Level follows Spencer (Alex Wolff), Fridge (Ser’Darius Blain), Martha (Morgan Turner), and Britney (Madison Iseman) during their winter break of their freshman year in college. Spencer, who is struggling more than his friends in college life, decides to go back into the Jumanji game to re-gain some confidence as Dr. Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson). However, the game glitches and Spencer’s grandfather (Danny DeVito) and his friend (Danny Glvoer) find themselves stuck in the game.

Jojo Rabbit is a satire about a young boy nicknamed “Jojo” (Roman Griffith Davis), who is a lonely boy in the Hitler Youth who often converses with his imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi). However, he finds out that his mother (Scarlett Johannson) is hiding a Jewish girl and is conflicted on what to do about her.
Fleabag is a comedy show that revolves around a girl in London (Phoebe-Waller Bridge) reeling from the death of her best friend and struggling to keep her guinea-pig themed café afloat.
Hustlers is based on a true story about a group of strippers who scam their Wall Street clients out of their money. Destiny (Constance Wu) is a new stripper who is struggling to make ends meet, however once she sees Ramona’s (Jennifer Lopez) act, she goes to her for advice that ends with Ramona taking her under her wing.
The Peanut Butter Falcon is a film about a man with Down Syndrome named Zak (Zach Gottsagen) who lives in a nursing home, but wants to leave and train to be a wrestler under Salt Water Redneck (Thomas Haden Church). He meets Tyler (Shia LeBeouf), a trouble making fisherman, and they start to form an unlikely friendship.
