Top 10 Movies of 2021

2021 was definitely a busy year for movies. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the opportunity to see any of the Foreign Language films currently in Oscar contention like Parallel Mothers, Drive My Car, The Worst Person in the World, or Petite Maman.

Most Anticipated Movies of 2022

Well, 2021 passed by in a blink of an eye and 2022 may end up being an exciting year for movies. I am waiting to see the Tragedy of Macbeth before posting my Top 10 of 2021, but that will be coming soon! Also, you may see some repeats from my Most Anticipated of 2021 post as release dates were shuffled once again due to the pandemic. West Side Story (2021)

West Side Story is about the forbidden romance between Tony (Ansel Elgort) and Maria (Rachel Zegler). Tony has been released from prison and was the leader of the Irish gang, the Jets. Maria’s brother, Bernardo (David Alvarez), is the leader of the Puerto Rican rival gang, the Sharks. The two gangs have been warring over territory, but that does not stop the two from falling in love.

C’mon C’mon follows Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix), an audio journalist, who is tasked with watching his nephew, Jesse (Woody Norman), for an extended period of time. He was previously distant with his sister and therefore, his nephew, so he feels out of his depth. However, he comes to deeply value his time with Jesse and becomes more open as a person.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

Spider-Man: No Way Home finds Peter Parker (Tom Holland) dealing with the fallout of his identity being exposed. Many people believe that he is a murderer and the lives of his loved ones are being compromised because of his actions. He seeks out Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast a spell to make people forget that he is Spider-Man. However, the spell goes haywire and the Spider-Man villains from other live-action universes with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in the titular role are now causing havoc in the MCU.
